Friday Fragments - 4/23/10
OK, this is going to just be a quick one - imagine that! A short post from me! But I am going to be a good girl and go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight (note that reasonable means BEFORE midnight in my life - that hasn't happened a lot lately).
I think that's why I'm just SO exhausted. I stay up until 12:30 or 1:00 in the morning, then I drag myself out of bed at 7ish (usually as late as I can manage to snooze before Blake comes and dumps a kitty on me!) then I drag around until I am late for work. Then I feel guilty about being late for work so I work like a dog all day and stay later than I need to, so it's usually 6:30-7:00 by the time I get home. Fortunately, my husband usually cooks something for dinner, but still it's a long day.
And then I get on the computer for the rest of the night to talk to all you lovely folks and write all my lovely blog posts, and check in with all my Ning and Blogfrog groups, help my customers, keep my Facebook account up to date, Tweet to my tweeties, visit a few of my bloggy friends, and read all the jokes everyone sends me... Whew, I get tired just thinking about all of that.
Anyway, I was so tired tonight, my son took pity on me and cooked dinner for me. He made me some scrambled eggs and toast. He's a nice boy, I think I'll keep him!
I'm taking a Positive Thinking class on Monday nights. It's just three weeks at the Community College, but I thought it was worth a whirl. I already know all this stuff, Lord knows, I have a whole SHELF on my book case that is all positive thinking books, but sometimes it's just nice to have a little refresher course on things like that.
The guy that teaches the class is very nice, but so far he hasn't really shared any real eye-openers. We did positive affirmations last week, which is a pretty basic technique, but I'm game, so I've been trying to remember to do mine. Don't know if it's helping yet, but I'll keep at it. In the meantime, I'm hoping he'll come up with something really earthshaking for the final week of the class.
I have had a lucky week so far. I won a $20 gift certificate at the Sassy Scoops night out on Saturday, and then I won a $50 gift certificate for the Vintage Pearl at the Spring Fling giveaway. So, maybe the positive thinking is working after all!
I know Easter is long past now, but I'm finally getting around to posting some pics of our Easter eggs. Thanks to a tip from Lauren at MakeItWorkMom, we got a little creative with our eggs this year. We used some rubons, did some fancy swirly things with them. And I think they came out very cute. The "E" one was for Matt's cute girlfriend Erin, who sadly has broken up with him. We miss her like crazy - she was such a sweet girl, but young love is complicated.
Shamus is so darn cute sometimes. He runs around like a crazy kitten most of the day and gets into EVERYTHING just like any other type of baby, and we've all got scratches all over the place from him, but then he gets sleepy and comes over to purr and snuggle up with you for a little nap and you just melt. Usually he comes and snuggles up right under my chin and purrs so loud and you can't help but forgive him for being such a little stinker all day!

Next Thursday I am off to Phoenix for Bloggy Boot Camp. After all the rain and snow we've had here, I am more than ready for some sun, although I will miss all my pretty tulips and gorgeous blooming trees. I do love Spring flowers. Miss me!

LOL I totally understand. It takes me all day sometimes to read blog posts, catch up on networking and such!
Have you read The Secret? That's along the same lines as Positive Thinking, but a little different....
Love the nails and the eggs- so creative!
