First Born Meme

Here's another Meme that is floating around on Facebook. I've been tagged for several this week, so I'll post them as I have time. I've edited out some of the specific details for privacy reasons.

Here you go mommies - a different kind of survey for a change - it's all about your first born! Just copy and paste it in a new note for yourself! Don't forget to tag me back! =)

Let's see how much you remember!

1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? Definitely! It took about two years to make up our minds.

2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes and had a 8 year old stepson.

3. WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION? Excited, but scared to death!

4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? After all that, are you kidding?

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 28 and then 38 for the next one!

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? Home pregnancy test

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? My husband and then my Mom.

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Heck yes.

9. DUE DATE? End of January, I guess. Probably the 30th because he was a week early.

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? No, I was really lucky. A little queasy sometimes, but I never threw up. My sister got that part of it - she was sick all 9 months with all 3 kids. Yuck!

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? White birthday cake with butter cream frosting. The second time, I wanted MEAT. I wanted a steak, pork chops, cheese, bacon, and I wanted it NOW. Thought I was going to starve to death for a couple of weeks.

12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? Nothing much. I was pretty happy and mellow. Had a hard time sleeping because I couldn't get comfy.

13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX? Boy

14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING? Yes. I wanted a girl SO badly and I was terribly disappointed when I found out he was going to be a boy. However, I think I've thanked my lucky stars every day since he was born when I see my friend's daughters!

15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY? About 30. I was big the first time and ENORMOUS the second time! Really huge! But they were whopping big babies too.

16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? Yes, a couple of them. One at work and one for the family.

17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW? The shower or the pregnancy? No to both.

18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? Yes - lots. First they thought he had a neural tube defect, so that scared us. Then I went into pre-term labor and had to be put on bedrest for 10 WEEKS. That was horrible. This was before the Internet and I was bored to tears. Then when he was born he had a streph infection and pneumonia and spent a week in the NICU. It was rough.

19. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? 12 hours of induced labor and then a C-section. Did I mention this was Superbowl Sunday? I didn't even like football, but they made me watch the game and they wouldn't let me have the C-section until the game was over!

20. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? My husband.

21. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? Just my husband. I don't think birth is a spectator sport!

22. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? C-section, thank God! I was begging for one after they said he was going to be 11 pounds, 3 ounces at my last Dr's visit. Talk about panic time!

23. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? Heck ya!

24. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN? 6:30 at night.

25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH? A whopping ten pounder, 21 inches long. See why I wanted the C-section so badly??

26. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER? Matthew Joseph
