Blake and Jake at the Chick-fil-a

Hi all! Remember me? Gosh, I didn't realize how long it had been since I have posted. Usually I'm pretty good about coming up with semi-regular posts, but I've been so absorbed in all the news lately about the debate and the election and the whole economic meltdown that I've been resident on CNN and MSNBC lately and I've sadly neglected my blogging duties.

But no more! I've decided that the financial and political world is just going to have to live without me, or at least live with less of my attention. It's kind of like the environment. All the stories I've been reading lately are just freaking me out and since I can't do a whole lot about it, other than vote, which believe me I AM GOING TO DO and with a vengance, I think I'll just keep my cute little nose out of it, 'cuz it's just stressing me out. Those guys in Congress get paid the big bucks to get us out of messes like this, so I say just let them get on with it. I swear, I think the press causes at least HALF the problems most of the time anyway.

So, we now return to our regularly scheduled programming. Here is a cute picture of my son and his best friend Jacob. What are they doing, you ask? Well, they are sticking waffle fries up their noses. Well, at this point, they aren't actually sticking them up their noses, they are just posing with them in their mouths, but about 2.3 seconds after I snapped this picture, they managed to get them up their noses.

Why are they sticking waffle fries up their noses and then eating them (the fries, not their noses). I seriously don't know. I think it has something to do with being a 10 year old boy. And also something to do with doing it because your friend did it and you thought it was funny!

These two are actually quite the characters together - what one of them doesn't think of, the other one does. But I kind of like it like that, so I let them get together for sleepovers pretty much as often as they want to. Jacob is a good kid and he's a lot of fun. He's actually a lot better looking than he is in this picture. He's got a devil-may-care grin and very unusual eyes - sort of a green with yellow edges if you can believe that. Some lady asked me if they were twins and I had to laugh. I don't think I'd wish that on either me or Jacob's Mom! I think we'd both have a lot more grey hair if we had both of them on our hands all the time. But on the other hand, we'd have lots of funny pictures like this!

PS: You'll notice that we're eating at Chick-fil-a. I don't know if that's a national chain or just a Utah one, but I used to boycott it simply because of the name. I couldn't believe that actual grownups would eat at a place with such a silly name. But their food is actually pretty good, so I've decided to just pretend that Chick-fil-a is a perfectly normal name for a fast food restaurant. I can almost say it without snickering....

Yes - we have Chick-fil-a here too and frequent it quite often. I like their chicken salad sandwiches. Cute picture - silly boys.

Have a good day - Kellan

Chick-Fil-A in Maryland, too, but one of my friends at work years ago always called it "Chick-a-fil" so that's what we all still call it. Their food is good, and I like that they buck the trend by staying closed on Sunday!

Yay, boys... I remember it well...
