Tonight was Blake's 9th birthday party. He doesn't really turn nine until Tuesday, but we had his birthday tonight. Everone told me I was crazy for setting up a sleepover party with a whole herd of boys, but what the heck. The boys are having a wonderful time. I think this has been one of our most fun parties ever. They played outside and had a wonderful time, then came in for ice cream cake (Spongebob, of course!) and presents.

Then we went to the park for flashlight tag. Most of the time was spent running around pretending to see aliens and screaming like girls, but they seemed to be having a lot of fun. Now they are downstairs watching The Mummy. In the morning, we'll get them up (or the other way 'round) and give them some pancakes and send them on their way.

Here are some pictures of the boys having ice cream cake. It's amazing how much fun the boys can have with such a simple party. After raising 3 boys, we've done a LOT of boys birthday parties. We estimate that this one was number 36 - wow! We've done bowling parties, pool parties, skating parties, several pirate parties, and the kids always seem to have a great time no matter what!
